The 14-Day Reset—Switching Your Body to Fat-Burning Mode
Now that you know your body type, you are probably ready to start. But before we look at specific fixes, we need to address the “Master Switch” that affects everyone: Insulin.

Whether you have an Adrenal belly or Thyroid weight gain, high insulin is like a lock that keeps your fat trapped. For the next 14 days, we are going to try a simple reset to lower that insulin.
I won’t give you a “starvation diet.” Instead, I’ll show you that if you change what you eat, your body will automatically change how it burns fuel. Here is how to do it practically:
1. Lower the Sugar
- The Goal: Try to remove all added sugar, honey, and jaggery for these 14 days. If you do this, your insulin will drop, and your brain will finally stop “begging” for sweets.
- The Practical Hack: If you absolutely cannot have your tea without sweetness, switch to a natural, zero-calorie sweetener like Stevia just for this period.
2. Reduce Grains and Starches
- The Goal: Try to pause the roti, rice, and poha. If you do this, your body will stop storing water and you will feel much lighter within 3 to 4 days.
- The Practical Hack: If a meal feels “incomplete” without a base, replace rice with grated cauliflower (sautéed in a little ghee) or add an extra bowl of cooked vegetables to stay full.
3. Load Up on Vegetables
- The Goal: Aim for a large portion of vegetables with every meal. If you do this, you provide your body with the potassium it needs to heal your metabolism and reduce cravings.
- The Practical Hack: If eating 7-10 cups of salad feels like too much, you can lightly steam your veggies or blend them into a green soup/smoothie. It’s easier to consume that way!
4. Keep Protein Moderate
- The Goal: Have a palm-sized portion of protein (eggs, paneer, chicken, or fish). If you do this, you protect your muscles while losing fat.
- The Practical Hack: If you are a vegetarian and find it hard to get protein without pulses (dal), focus on paneer or hung curd, as these have fewer carbs than lentils.
5. Add Healthy Fats
- The Goal: Use ghee, butter, or coconut oil. If you do this, you will stay full for hours and won’t feel the need to snack.
- The Practical Hack: If you are worried about “eating fat,” remember that fat doesn’t spike insulin. Adding one spoonful of ghee to your vegetables is the secret to not feeling hungry an hour later.
6. Avoid Snacking
- The Goal: Stick to 3 solid meals and stop the “in-between” munching. If you do this, you give your body a long window to actually burn stored fat.
- The Practical Hack: If you feel hungry at 4 PM, it usually means you didn’t eat enough fat during lunch. Next time, add a little more ghee or avocado to your lunch to sail through the evening.
Why are we doing this?
During these 14 days, your body is learning to switch from burning “sugar fuel” to “fat fuel.” You might feel a bit low on energy for the first 2-3 days—don’t worry, that’s just your engine switching over. Once you cross that bridge, your energy will be much steadier.
The Bottom Line: You don’t have to be “perfect,” you just have to be consistent. If you follow these steps, your body will finally feel safe enough to let go of its fat reserves.
Next Session: We will talk about Precision Nutrition—how to tweak this plan specifically for your Adrenal, Liver, Thyroid, or Ovary body type.
